Human rights lawyer and senatorial candidate Chel Diokno thanked the youth for their overwhelming support as he continues to lead mock polls in various universities all over the country ahead of the May 13 elections.
Most recently, the veteran human rights lawyer topped mock senatorial elections at Saint Louis University, receiving 667 or 66.24% of 1007 votes. He also ranked first at the University of the Philippines Diliman mock elections held this month, garnering 84.8% of 1000 votes—close to doubling the 45.27% he garnered at the same university’s mock polls held just last January, where he ranked second.
Diokno, who has proven popular with young voters especially online for his “woke” or “makatarungan” stands on issues, has been consistently topping mock Senate elections in universities all over the country. He also ranked first in mock polls at the De La Salle University – Dasmariñas, with 93% of the vote; at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod Maynila, with 93.3%; at the Mapua University, with 96%; at the Ateneo de Manila University, with 93.9%; at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, with 97.29%; at the University of the Philippines Manila, with 92.33%; at the University of the Philippines Baguio with 88.6%; at the University of the Philippines – Visayas, with 86.09%; at the University of Santo Tomas AMV – College of Accountancy, with 86.25%; at the University of San Carlos; and at Wesleyan University Philippines.
Meanwhile, Diokno placed second in mock elections at the University of the East – Manila, with 280 or 55.45% of 505 votes. He also ranked second at the Philippine Normal University, and third at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Manila.
Yan ang sinusulong natin,” he added.
